The arms captured by the security forces include cannons, mortars, rocket launchers, grenades, recoilless rifles, fuzes, anti tank and anti personnel mines as well as huge quantity of ammunition, explosives with electric improved circuits, communication gadgetries, medicines and food items, says an ISPR press release.
According to investigations carried out by intelligence agencies, the same kind of weapons and ammunition were used in various terrorist acts elsewhere in the country.
The terrorists have been using these weapons indiscriminately that often fell on civilian population in South Waziristan Agency.
One such free flight rocket fell on the house of Mir Afzal Khoniakhel on July 12, which killed his two sons. Besides, there had been numerous instances where mine blasts by terrorists caused death of innocent civilians and personnel of security forces and heavy loss to vehicles.
